Rbself is expanding its independent housekeeping crew and three additional independent housekeeping contractors are needed in Brian Head, Utah for work at the premiere Copper Chase condominium project. We are located adjacent to the Brian Head Ski Resort. Housekeeping contractors are paid in full daily upon shift completion. Workers compensation is provided by rbself as well as travel (fuel) from Parowan to Brian Head and logistic pickup/drop-off time reimbursement. There is NO laundry to do as rbself provides a sealed duffle bag with all the linens/bedding/towels (professionally laundered) needed to complete each cleaning job. Individual condo owners who’s condos we clean provide a fully stocked cleaning tote (on site) with all the specialty and certified cleaning products that will be used on the job. Housekeepers may bring their own supplies if they desire, but only after approval from the condo owner to make sure they meet safety and new COVID requirements. Rbself supplies an Apple iPad for daily use. The ideal applicant is currently working as an independent contractor and would like to pick up additional shifts with rbself.
Each housekeeping contractor is issued a Mastercard PayCard, and will be paid daily upon completion and inspection of their work. Contractors will receive a 1099-Misc at the end of the year reporting their income. This PayCard is linked to the housekeeping contractors smartphone allowing immediate transfer of funds to a banking account, payment of bills or NO FEE CASH withdrawal from various local ATM’s and complete payroll history and balance.
This is “gig work” and paid per condo so the faster you work the more you make per hour. Our housekeeping contractors average between $25 and $35 per hour … a few even more. Some like to work quickly and others like to work more leisurely. Either way, rbself expects exceptional quality from its housekeeping contractors and strives for a five-star rating from each of it’s guests. Rbself’s moto is: “WE HIRE THE BEST AND PAY THE BEST”. Rbself provides many perks to contractors such as the ability to stay one or more nights for FREE in these high end condos when they are not booked. Each housekeeping contractor will use a detailed check list on an Apple iPad tablet (provided by rbself) as they clean and are required to take “before and after” photos of their work as well as details of any damage found. We understand that contractors have their own expertise and methods of completing their trade. Housekeeping contractors are given the freedom to perform their duties such as what will be done to achieve the ultimate goal. Housekeeping contractors are encouraged to share ideas and methodology so they can improve and excel at their trade. Rbself supervisors will monitor the cleaning progress and tablet photos in real time and will be prepared to inspect the work quickly upon completion to make sure the end results meet the standards required by the booking agencies. Familiarization and competency using a touch tablet is required. Knowledge of Microsoft “OneNote” is a plus.
These five-star condos being cleaned are used as short term rentals which have a high turn over rate. Unlike hotel rooms, each condo is custom designed to be unique in it’s own way and range from high end studios to penthouses. Rbself pays far more (two to three times more) than anyone else on the resort mountain and has high expectations from its housekeeping contractors. If guests leave a condo unusually messy or don’t substantially follow the check-out list, the contractor is paid an additional $30 / hour to perform the extra work needed to bring the condo back to rbself standards.
Housekeeping contractors should be in good physical shape and must be able to lift/carry a 50 pound duffle bag up three flights of stairs (some condos have elevators, and some are located on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor, and are accessed via enclosed carpeted stairways). Note: Brian Head is at 10,000 feet elevation. Unlike all other cleaning services, rbself stages one or more Kirby vacuum cleaners, mops & brooms in each condo it services so the housekeeping contractor does not have to lug such items up/down stairs and from condo to condo. The majority of the flooring is wood or tile with throw rugs. Contractors should have a reliable vehicle. Should they wish to pickup shifts when it is snowing they should have four wheel drive.
The Housekeeping Schedule Opportunities are posted online and contractors can apply for any open shift. Priority is given on the basis of quality and past performance. Housekeeping contractors that achieve little or no inspection problems receive a higher rating. Contractors that sign up for their shift and cancel without finding a substitute may be placed at the bottom of scheduling priority.
Housekeeping contractors should have experience. Rbself takes great pride in it’s housekeeping staff and provides a very favorable working environment. The average length of time our contractors have been with the company is several years. Most of our housekeeping contractors work for other property managers in addition to rbself. Rbself takes pride in its pledge to adhere to the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) standards and what it means to pay contractors a living wage. A TYPICAL WORK DAY
Housekeeping contractors pickup their cleaning unit duffle bags, Apple iPad and cleaning tote in the morning from Tacit Shadow Resort (bed and breakfast) in Parowan (at the base of the mountain) and may enjoy FREE access to the Tacit Shadow Resort coffee/refreshment bar should they desire. Contractors will then drive to Brian Head Copper Chase condominiums. They will then take the Unit Bag(s) to their assigned condo to complete their duties. Guests check-out at 10:00 a.m. so housekeeping typically are in the condo at this time. Housekeeping contractor will use the iPad to check-off progress AS THEY CLEAN and take photos as required. Contractors will complete their assigned condo(s), have them inspected, and then return their iPad to the charging station and re-stock their cleaning tote in Parowan. Housekeeping contractor will return Unit Bags and dirty laundry bags to Tacit Shadow bed and breakfast. Contractor will sort their dirty laundry into laundry bins at the Tacit Shadow laundry facility and then notify the rbself housekeeping supervisor that they are done. The supervisor will confirm completion and immediately initiate pay transfer to contractor’s personal PayCard which will post immediately and be instantly available to the contractor.
Note: Housekeeping contractors can sign up for one or more condos based upon availability and the contractors cleaning speed and performance rating, allowing a contractor to make $200 to $300 in a 6 to 8 hour day should they desire. Housekeeping contractors can work between 2 and 8 hours on a day depending on shift availability and any other GIGs they have with other property managers. THIS IS NOT A FULL TIME JOB!
